Jack Donavon Weismiller, 89 of Tipton died at 12:14 a.m. on Tuesday, October 8, 2019 at Miller’s Merry Manor in Tipton. He was born on January 17, 1930 in Tipton County to William E. & Gladys L. (Goodwin) Weismiller. On October 28, 1950 he married Bonnie Ruth Luse and she survives.
Jack was a 1948 graduate of Windfall High School and a member of the Curtisville Christian Church. He was employed at Delco Electronics, retiring in 1988 and a member of UAW Local 292 Skilled Trades. He was a former Tipton County farmer and also an avid outdoorsman.
He is survived by three children, Peggy Anne Wavra and husband Robert, Kokomo, Janet Elaine Coppock, Kokomo, Bruce Thomas Weismiller and wife Tina, Tipton County; five grandchildren, Matthew Wavra and wife, Laura, Heather White and husband Steve, Jonathan Coppock and wife Christina, Daniel Coppock, Amy Lynch and husband Patrick; six great grandchildren, Kira Anne E. Hayes, Claire E. Wavra, Isaac A. Coppock, Emily C. Coppock, George P. Lynch, and Vivian E. Lynch. Other survivors include two sisters-in-law, Trecy Garner and Carolyn Luse; a niece Lou Ann Clouser and husband Tim; a nephew, Chip Weismiller and wife Chris, along with several cousins.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Maurice Weismiller and both of his parents.
Funeral services for Jack will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 12 at Young-Nichols Funeral Home with Lynn Brust officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:00 Noon until the time of the service on Saturday.
