Hulda A. Holsten

Hulda A. Holsten, 99 of Tipton died at 1:04 a.m. on Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at IU Health Tipton Hospital.  She was born in Tipton County on November 1, 1918 to Paul & Martha (Leininger) Schulenburg.  On April 27, 1968 she married Walter Holsten and he preceded her in death on January 4, 1998.

Hulda was a Secretary for F.M.C. in Tipton for 38 years before she retired.  She was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church, Ladies Aid, Lutheran Women’s Missionary League, and sang in the choir for 25 years.  She was a 1937 graduate of Tipton High School.

Hulda is survived by several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her brothers, Herbert Schulenburg, Arnold Schulenburg, Emory Schulenburg, Melvin Schulenburg, Walter Schulenburg, and John Schulenburg.

Funeral services for Hulda will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 1 at the Emanuel Lutheran Church, 1385 South State Road 19, Tipton with Rev. Dr. Robb Roloff presiding.  Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Tipton.  Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. Saturday until time of the service.  Young-Nichols Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
