Herbert A. Tragesser

Herbert A. TragesserHerbert A. Tragesser, 71 of Indianapolis died at 12:55 a.m. Sunday, August 24, 2008  at St. Vincent Hospice in Indianapolis.  He was born on February 3, 1937 in Tipton to Aloysius and Christine (Funke) Tragesser.Herbert retired from Chrysler after 39 years of service.  He was a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Kokomo, past member of the Kokomo Elks, and a member of the UAW local 1302.  Herbert enjoyed boating, snowmobiling, golfing, piloting, ballroom dancing, and coaching baseball and softball.  He also was a model railroader, and  scuba diver.Herbert served his country in the Navy from 1954 until 1963.He is survived by three children Shawn S. Roode, Indianapolis, Ryan H. Tragesser (Stephanie), Fishers and Nicole N. Tragesser, Indianapolis; six sisters, Rita Parr, Fran Mozzone, Becky Soupley, Connie Mumford, Donna Tidler and Henny Schulenburg; five brothers Tom, John, Ted, Bob, and  Jim Tragesser. Also surviving are five grandchildren, Jasey , Jocelyn, Jenna, Lance, and Audra Tragesser.Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 28  at  St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Tipton, with Rev. Leroy Kinnaman presiding burial; will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Tipton. Visitation will be Wednesday August 27 from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Young-Nichols Funeral Home, Tipton, with a wake service at 6:00 p.m.  Graveside military rites will be conducted.Memorial donations may be made to St. Vincent Hospice, 8450 N.
