Harry J. HallHarry J. Hall, 89 of Tipton died at 8:54 a.m.
on Thursday, February 7, 2013 at IU Health Tipton Hospital.
Harry was born on May 31, 1923 in Brickmore, West Virginia to Harry
Edward & Virdie (Gross) Hall. He also lived in
Morgantown, West Virginia, Fairmount, West Virginia, Parkersburg,
West Virginia, and Charleston, West Virginia for 26 years. After
retirement he lived in Sebring, Florida for 18 years before moving
to Tipton in 2006 to be closer to his family. On May 10, 1946
he married Geraldine "Gerri" (Ault) Hall and she survives.Harry was a Corporal in the Unites States Army
from 1943-1946. He fought in the Battle of the Bulge where he
was captured by the Germans and spent five months as a prisoner of
war in a slave labor camp before being liberated. His
experience was included in a book of veteran memoirs, "Out of the
Mist" by Mike Mullins. Harry retired in June of 1986 from
Prudential Insurance Company as a sales and estate planning agent.
He was a Certified Life Underwriter.Harry is survived by his wife, Gerri; a daughter, Nancy Bolds and
husband David, Tipton; two grandchildren, Kelly Anne Horton,
Fishers, Sara Frances Pearce and husband Erik, Tipton; four
great-grandchildren, Matthew and Zachary Horton, Andrew and Eli Pearce; a
brother Larry Hall and wife Agnes, Strongsville, Ohio; a sister
Linda Shipley and husband David, Rivesville, West Virginia; and
several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by four
brothers and five sisters.Funeral services will be at 7:00 p.m. Monday, February 11 at West
Street Christian Church with Rev. Linda McKiernan-Allen presiding.
Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 12 in Fairview
Cemetery, Tipton with Military Honors. Visitation will be Monday
from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service at the church.Memorial contributions may be made to West Street Christian Church,
