Harold A. Ley, 89 of Claypool, Indiana and formerly of Sharpsville and Tipton, died at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 21, 2021 at his residence. He was born in Tipton County on August 19, 1932 to Arthur and Myrtle (Marks) Ley. Harold married Eleanor J. DeWitt on August 30, 1968 enjoying 51 years of marriage until her passing on October 22, 2019.
Harold was a local farmer and retired from his factory job at Steel Parts. He proudly served his country in the Army. He had served on the Board of Directors for Steel Parts Credit Union. Harold was an avid Chicago Cubs fan and enjoyed being active bowling, golfing, fishing and traveling.
Harold is survived by his son Mike Hamilton and companion friend Robyn of Kokomo, sisters Kathy Phillips of Tipton, Barbara Schinlaub of Tipton and Rozella Voss of Cicero. Grandchildren include Kyle Hamilton and wife Carrie and Kevin Hamilton and wife Lindsay. He has two great grandchildren, Olivia and Brynn.
Harold was preceded in death by his wife Eleanor Jane Ley, and a sister Florence Morris.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, November 26, at Young-Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Butch Troke presiding. Burial will follow at Sharpsville Cemetery. Visitation will also be on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until service time.
