Hal Duayne Landseadel, 64 died at 9:45 a.m. on Wednesday, November 14, 2012 in Henderson, Nevada after a six-week illness, surrounded by his wife, children and grandchildren. He was born June 9, 1948 in Kokomo to George F. & Mary (Jarret) Landseadel. Hal had lived in Kokomo for 10 years, Tipton for 41 years and Searchlight, Nevada for the past 13 years.

His first marriage was to Peggy (Frazee) Landseadel, the mother of his children. He then married Susan C. Landseadel on February 11, 1987 and she survives.

Hal retired from General Motors in 1997 after 30 years of service. He was a 1966 graduate of Tipton High School and was a member of the 1966 School Band of America European Concert Tour. He was a Murat Shriner, Past Grand Lodge F&AM of Indiana and Noblesville York Rite. Hal was the author of three published books – "The Receiver", "Eddie" and "Hal's Shorts".

Survivors besides his wife Susan include one son, Jeff Landseadel and wife Sherry K. of Tipton; one daughter, Jenny Landseadel, Tipton; one step-daughter, Angela Barratt, Phoenix, Arizona; four grandchildren, Payton Landseadel, Tara Stevenson. Derek Landseadel and Bryson Lay; three sisters, Julia Tragesser, Sue Thatcher, and Laura Strebin and husband Jeff. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Hal was preceded in death by his parents, in-laws Herbert P. & Claudia V. Stewart, stepson Clayton Archer, grandson Daniel Moberly, daughter-in-law Dawn M. (Stout) Landseadel and brother-in-law Mike Thatcher.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 20 at Young-Nichols Funeral Home with Pastor Kevin Carr presiding and entombment to follow in Sunset Memory Gardens in Kokomo. Visitation will be from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home with a Masonic service at 7:30 p.m.
