Greg A. Watson

Greg Alan Watson, 62 of Tipton died on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at his residence.  He was born on September 14, 1955 in Tipton to Rupert A. “Red” & Eileen M. (Lewis) Watson.  He was a paint and wallpaper contractor.

Greg was a graduate of Tipton High School in the Class of 1973.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting and playing cards.  He was a voracious reader – especially history books.  Greg was also an avid Cubs fan.  He loved spending time with his granddaughter, Madeline.

Greg is survived by his three children, Erin Elizabeth Watson, New Buffalo, Michigan, Lisa Kathleen Watson, Michigan City and Cody Daniel Watson, Michigan City; three sisters and one brother, Rose Kurtz and husband Mike, Indianapolis, Kathy Watson, Noblesville, Carl Watson and wife Jane, Tipton, and Judy Watson, Tipton; one granddaughter, Madeline Eileen Robertson; a family friend, Greg Coverdale and four nieces.  He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Kirk E. Watson.

A memorial service for Greg will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, November 10 at Young-Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Linda McKiernan-Allen presiding.  Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery at a later date.  Visitation will be from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. Friday.

Memorial contributions in Greg’s honor may be made to a college fund for his granddaughter Madeline Robertson at Encompass Federal Credit Union, 201 N. Main Street, Tipton, Indiana, 46072.
