George E. SkeenGeorge E. Skeen, 75 of Tipton and formerly of
Indianapolis and Elwood died on Saturday, July 16, 2016 at his
residence. He was born August 6, 1940 in Elwood to Henry
Curtis & Louella Mae (McFall) Skeen. On May 23, 1995 he
married Anita Feldhake and she survives.Over his lifetime George had worked at Central
Steel, State Plating, Ray Brothers & Noble, Tipton Park and Ace
Hardware. He was an avid "C.B." user and was well known as
"Hoosier Boy".Survivors besides his wife Anita include two
children, Tina Covey and husband Les, Wilkinson, Indiana and George
Skeen and wife Sherry, Anderson; one son-in-law Brian Gerard of
Indianapolis; two sisters and one brother, Judy Rice and husband
Richard, Avon Park, Florida, Cecil Skeen, Anderson and Linda
Caldwell and husband Nelson, Sebring, Florida.His is also survived by five grandchildren, Christy
Gerard, Misty Gerard, Brian Gerard, Brittney Crawford and Edward
Holmes, eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
George was preceded in death by one daughter, Cindy Lee Gerard and
one brother, Joe Skeen.A Celebration of Life for George will be held at
7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 19 at Young-Nichols Funeral Home with
Rev. Doug Slack presiding.
The family will greet friends from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Tuesday prior to
the service.Memorial contributions in George's honor may be made
