Frederick O. Miller, 86 of Tipton peacefully went to his heavenly home January 9, 2016 at Miller's Merry Manor in Tipton. He was the youngest child of L. Tiffin & Edith (Barr) Miller born April 21, 1929 in Prairie Township, Tipton County.
Fred graduated Prairie Township High School in 1947. He was drafted into the United States Army in February 1952, where he served in Germany during the Korean Conflict until 1954. Fred and Julie Watson were married in June 1958. Fred had lived his 86 years of life in Tipton County. He retired from Steel Parts Corporation in 1994 after 37 years.
The highlight of 2015 for Fred was going to Washington D.C. on a Veteran's Honor Flight. He was active in The Gideons International, Tipton County Goose Bean Garden, and Goldsmith United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife Julie; a daughter, Melissa (Greg) Deason of West Lafayette, Indiana and a son, Chad Miller of Tipton. He dearly loved his grandchildren, Alex Deason, Jacob Deason, Ross Deason, Kate Miller and Chase Miller. He is also survived by a brother, John (Edythe) Miller of Florida.
Fred was preceded in death by a sister, Mary F. Davis and two brothers, Robert Miller and Allen Miller.
Fred's funeral will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 13 at Young-Nichols Funeral Home with Pastor James Richey presiding. Burial will follow in Tetersburg Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
