Fred RobinsonFred Robinson, 81 of Atlanta died at 2:10 a.m. on
Thursday, July 9, 2015 at his residence. He was born in
Elwood, Indiana on May 18, 1934 to Floyd & Edith (Patton) Robinson.
On February 16, 1957 he married Mary K. McCorkle and she survives.Fred retired from Delco Remy in May of 1996. He also worked at
the Tipton City Park retiring in 2015. Fred was a member of
the "Bitch and Moan Club", Quarter Milers Auto Club, and the Tipton
Elks. He was also a life long drag racer, known around the
track as "Frantic Fred" to his many friends. Fred served in
the United States Army from February of 1955 to November of 1957.He is survived by his wife Mary; three children, Sandra Lee Powell
and husband Brett, Noblesville, Deborah Sue Boyter and husband Bud,
Westfield, Kenneth E. Robinson and wife Kelley, Greentown; two
sisters, Rosie Beals, Kokomo, Judy McGinnis, Illinois; a brother,
Melvin Robinson and wife Sue, Georgia; six grandchildren; six
great-grandchildren; and a daughter from a former marriage, Vikki
Lee and husband Terry, Indianapolis.Funeral services
for Fred will be at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, July 13 at Young-Nichols
Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Tipton with
military honors. Visitation will be from 2:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Sunday
at the funeral home.Memorial contributions to
