Everett G. "Gene" Bradfield 62, of Tipton died at 8:00 p.m. Monday, March 26, 2012 in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He was born in Noblesville on January 7, 1950 to Walter William & Erschel (Kemp) Bradfield. On May 28, 1977 he married Carla Young and she survives.
Gene retired from Dean's as a truck driver in 2002. He was member of the Victory Baptist Church in Cicero. Gene also was a Vietnam War veteran and enjoyed music, playing the guitar and banjo.
Survivors include his wife, Carla; four children, Mike VanSickle, Indianapolis, Jenny Shuck, Tipton, Ray Twomey, Tipton, Kim Scott, Arcadia; 16 grandchildren; one great grandson; a sister, Emma Bell, Kentucky; two brothers, Junior Bradfield, Westfield, and Harry Bradfield, Tipton. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Becky Bradfield, one sister, and eight brothers.
His funeral will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 29 at Young-Nichols Funeral Home with Pastor Darrell Jones presiding and burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery with military honors. Visitation will be from 12:00 noon – 2:00 p.m. Thursday prior to the service.
