Evelyn M. Tidler, 74 of Tipton died at 10:37 p.m. on Friday, February 28, 2014 at IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born in Elwood on March 1, 1939 to Charles Riley and Edna (Randall) Riley Fakes. She married David L. Tidler on June 14, 1957, and he survives.
Evelyn had worked for 18 years as the administrator of Frankfort Nursing Home. She was a member of Beulah Land Baptist Church and enjoyed working puzzles, playing computer games and she was an avid reader.
Survivors besides her husband include two daughters, Melinda "Lynn" Goodnight of Tipton and DiVette "Pork" Wyatt of Tipton; two sons, David L. Tidler, Jr. of Kempton and Ronald A. "Tiny" Tidler and wife Lisa of Kempton; one sister, Betty Jo Bagley; nine grandchildren, Jamie Wolverton, Joshua Goodnight, Brianne Payne, Whitney Blazic, Lindsay Quinn, Meghan Pacheco, Kirk, Garrett and Brooke Tidler.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a granddaughter, Casey Quinn, a great grandson, Blake Anthony Brown and siblings, Dora Lacy, Dorothy Stephens, Richard Riley and Mary Elizabeth Riley.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 5, at Young-Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Dan Coomer presiding. Burial at Fairview Cemetery in Tipton will follow. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service Wednesday at the funeral home.
