Elmer E. "Gene" FordElmer E. "Gene" Ford, 73, Tipton, died at 3:52 a.m. Wednesday, May 28, 2008 at Tipton Hospital.  He was born in Lilbourn, Missouri on February 15, 1935 to Vergil H. and Reta Bell (Goodwin) Ford.  Elmer married Ann Capper on February 27, 1957, and she survives.He retired in 1989 from Fisher Body in Marion  after 30 years of employment. He belonged to  UAW 973 and was a member of Windfall Christian Church.  He was also the Post Commander of the American Legion Post 438 in Windfall, and Past Master of the Windfall Masonic Lodge.  He had served in the United States Air Force from 1955 - 1959.Survivors include his wife, Ann, three children, Debbie Ford, Tipton, Kim E. Ford and wife Richele, Tipton, and Glenn Ford and wife Beth of Flowery Branch, Georgia; three brothers and two sisters, Bernadean Lowe and husband Vernon, Harker Heights, Texas, Ronald Ford and wife Linda, Fairdealing, Missouri, Kenneth Ford and wife Iva Lee, Doniphan, Missouri, Sue Parks, Windfall and Jerry Ford, Doniphan, Missouri.He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Justin Smith, Kristin Ford, Darrin Ford, Cody Ford, Dylan Ford, Christian Salazar, and Alyssa Ford.Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 31, at Windfall Christian Church with Rev. Carl Roudebush presiding.  Burial in Brookside Cemetery will be at a later date.  Visitation will be from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Friday, May 30 and 9:00 - 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 31 at Windfall Christian Church, with a Masonic Service at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2732 South Albright Rd. Kokomo, Indiana, 46902.Young-Nichols Funeral Home, Tipton is in charge of the arrangements.
