Eldon K. Wittkamper

Eldon Keith Wittkamper, 69 of Elwood died Saturday, December 29, 2012 at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis after a 6-week illness. He was born December 1, 1943 in Tipton County to Joseph & Agnes Lucille (Mock) Wittkamper. Eldon was a life-long resident of Tipton County. On June 8, 1969 he married Marla Henderson and she survives.

Eldon was a farmer, auctioneer, school bus driver and currently owned and operated his own lawn care business, Eldon’s Elite Lawn Service. He was a member and former elder of the West Street Christian Church in Tipton and belonged to the Tipton Kiwanis, Tipton Horseshoe Association and the Indiana Auctioneers Association. He loved having fun and spending time with family and friends. He never knew a stranger.

Survivors besides his wife Marla include three children, Jentry Wittkamper and wife Alisha (Lewis), Pendleton, Derek Wittkamper, Essex, Massachusetts, and Lynlee (Wittkamper) Funk and husband Aaron, Anderson; one sister, Berneta Beiswanger, Wolcottville, three brothers, Ferrill Wittkamper, Elwood, Dwight Wittkamper, Anderson and Marvin Wittkamper of Elwood; five grandchildren, Katelin, Karlie and Claire Wittkamper, Adeline Wittkamper and Wyatt Funk, several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Eldon was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Louise Jordan; brothers Loren and Maurice Wittkamper; nephews Dorane Beiswanger and Brian Wittkamper; nieces Karen Fulkerson, Tonda Pratt and Nadine Wilhoite and great-nephew Gregory Clark.

A memorial service for Eldon will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 4, 2013 at the West Street Christian Church, 132 N. West Street, Tipton, with Rev. Linda McKiernan-Allen presiding. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 3 and for one hour prior to the service Friday, all at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Hemophilia Association of Indiana, 5172 E. 65th Street, Indianapolis, Indiana, 46220, or the West Street Christian Church. Young-Nichols Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
