Eileen M. Hobbs, age 97, of Tipton passed away on March 28, 2013. Eileen was born on February 16, 1916, in Hamilton County, Indiana, to Ed and Fannie Bryant. She married Hilton H. Hobbs, who preceded her in death on November 8, 1995.
Eileen is survived by three children, Doyle L. Hobbs (Jean Hobbs), of Tipton, Ben B. Hobbs (Becky Hobbs), of Tipton, and Nancy M. Armstrong (Jerry Armstrong), of West Des Moines, Iowa. One child, Sharon Ann Hobbs, predeceased her. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Marcia Fettig, Scott Hobbs, Mindy Hobbs, Lynn Trott, Ryan Hobbs, Jason Armstrong and Jill Richey, and eight great grandchildren.
Eileen was an active member of Hobbs Christian Church, Phi Beta Psi sorority, the Happy Hour Club, Hobbs Christian Church Circle, the Mix and Fix Home Economics Club and the Circle E Saddle Club. She was a loving and caring wife and mother who devoted her life to her family.
The family will receive friends at Young-Nichols Funeral Home, Tipton on Monday, April 1, 2013, from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. A celebration of life service will be held Tuesday, April 2, at 10:00 A.M. at the Hobbs Christian Church in Hobbs, with the Rev. Melissa Grishaw officiating. Burial will follow in Elwood City Cemetery. The family will also receive friends at the church one hour prior to the celebration of life service .
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Eileen's memory to: Hobbs Christian Church, P.O. Box 302 Hobbs, Indiana, 46047, the Hobbs Health Care Fund (Tipton Hospital), or the Hilton Hobbs 4-H Livestock Scholarship Fund, both administered at the Tipton County Foundation, P.O. Box 412 Tipton, Indiana 46072. The family would like to thank Dr. Lambert and Dr. Harper, Millers Merry Manor and all of Eileen's dedicated caregivers.
