Donald "Duck" Koors, 81 of Tipton died Saturday, December 6, 2014 at IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born in Tipton on December 19, 1932 to John and Florence (Gall) Koors. He married Georgia (Badgley) on December 31, 1955, and she survives.
Duck was retired from Norfolk and Southern Railroad where he was a brakeman. He belonged to the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers. Duck was known for his ability to help many people by working on household appliances. He was an avid Blue Devil fan, attending many high school sports functions. He had served in the U. S. Army.
Duck is survived by his wife, Georgia, two sons, Randy of Tipton and Ron and wife Janice of Brownsburg, two grandchildren, Paige and Cassie, two sisters, Rosina Vawter of Lafayette and Doris Owings of California, two brothers, Carl Koors and wife Ina of Sheridan and Paul Koors and wife Mary Joan of LaGrange.
Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, December 11 at Young-Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Christopher Shocklee presiding. Burial with military rites will follow at Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday.
