David L. Dell

David L. DellDavid L. Dell, 49, Tipton, died at 1:20 p.m. Tuesday, July 13, 2010, in Tipton. He was born in Tipton on June 3, 1961 to Harry and Kozy (Smith) Dell.  On July 30, 1988 he married Cathy Parton and she survives.He was employed at Chrysler in Kokomo for 16 years.  David was a member of UAW 685 and a team leader in department 88 at Kokomo Transmission.  He was an avid sports fan; his favorite teams were the Tipton Blue Devils, IU, Notre Dame and his beloved Oakland Raiders.  After high school he played football at Joliet Jr. College.  Everyone who knew David knew his love for cooking and grilling!!  David enjoyed being around his family and friends.David is survived by his wife, Cathy; two children, Lauren Dell, Clinton County, Drake Dell, at home; his father, Harry Dell; three sisters, Dayna Ferguson and husband Charlie, Tipton, Margie Hobbs, Peru,  Mary Powers and husband Terry, Westfield, numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.He was preceded in death by his mother, Kozy Dell and one brother, Harry Dell, Jr.His funeral will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 17 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Tipton, with Rev. Leroy Kinnaman presiding.  Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Tipton.  Visitation will be from 2:00 - 8:00 p.m. Friday at Young-Nichols Funeral Home with a wake service at 8:00 p.m.Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. 2723 South Albright Road, Kokomo, Indiana, 46902.
