Tipton

Charlie Harner, 58 of Tipton passed away at 6:47 p.m. on Saturday, April 5, 2025 at IU Health Methodist Hospital after a brief illness. He was born in Kokomo on January 3, 1967 to Davel E. Harner and Cathy (Franklin) Harner Hawkins who both preceded him in death. Charlie married Anita L. Howery on June 14, 2008 and they enjoyed 16 years together.

Charlie had worked as an over the road truck driver before health problems required him to retire. He attended Kokomo High School. Earlier in life he enjoyed fishing with his brother. Charlie spent a lot of time watching TV, especially true-crime shows.

Survivors besides his wife Anita include his seven siblings, Debbie (Harner) and Tom Rayles, Ed and Michelle Harner, Regina Roberts, Rhonda (Wisehart) and Gary McKay, Tony and Angie Wisehart, Allen Harner and Janet Galbraith and Janet and Tim Wooten as well as many nieces and nephews.

It was Charlie’s wish to not have any funeral services and his family is honoring that desire. They are planning a Celebration of Life for later this summer. Young-Nichols Funeral Home is assisting the Harner family in their time of need.

Memorial donations in honor of Charlie should be made to the Tipton County Humane Society, P.O. Box 237, Tipton, Indiana, 46072.
