Charles W. "Pud" MainCharles W. "Pud" Main, 85, died at 12:58 p.m. Monday , October 9, 2006 at Otterbein-Cridersville Nursing Home in Cridersville, Ohio.  He was born June 9, 1921, in Tipton, Indiana, to Arthur D. & Theresa (Landseadel) Main.  On August 31, 1941, he married Elizabeth Ann Nicholson and she died January 31, 2006.He worked as a tool engineer at General Motors, retiring in 1972. Charles was a past member of the Masons in Anderson and the Tipton Elks.  He was a member of the first golf team at Tipton High School.  He served in the U.S. Army 82nd Airborne during WWII and received the Purple Heart.Charles is survived by one daughter, Melinda Porter, Cridersville, Ohio; one sister, Anna Lou Richardson, Erie, Pennsylvania; one granddaughter and four great-grandchildren.His service will be at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 12, at Young-Nichols Funeral Home.  Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Tipton.  Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
