Carol J. Reese

Carol J. Reese, 83 of Tipton passed away at 10:06 p.m. on Thursday, February 13, 2025 at The Waters of Tipton. She was born in the Beechwood area of Tipton County on April 30, 1941 to Paul O. & Mary (Alley) Reese.

Carol worked at Marsh for 37 years from 1959-1996. During that time she saw many changes in how groceries are sold as she worked her way up from Cashier to Office Manager. Carol had attended Kempton Christian Church and Rock Prairie Church in Tipton. 

She was a graduate of Jefferson Township High School in the Class of 1959. She loved her classmates and the fact that they stayed in close contact throughout the years. One special friend was Judith Roe who called Carol daily and never missed sending a card on her birthday and Christmas.

She loved to cook and bake and was great at both of them and she was also a great seamstress. Carol loved all kinds of puzzles especially Word Search. She loved music; especially the Gaithers and she attended many of their concerts. She was also a big fan of Elvis Presley. 

Those left behind include one sister, Judy Badgley and husband Mike of Tipton; a nephew, Doug Badgley and a great-nephew, Joey Badgley. She has many cousins including a special cousin, Diana Young and her daughter, Darlene Young. 

Carol was preceded in death by her parents; a great-nephew, Michael Paul Badgley and a great-niece, Kaylee Jo Badgley as well as her favorite cat, Chuck.

A funeral service for Carol will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 18 at Young-Nichols Funeral Home with Pastor Rick Webster presiding. Burial will follow in Kempton Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Memorial donations in Carol’s honor should be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 50 East 91st Street, Suite 100, Indianapolis, Indiana, 46240.

Carol was a very loving and caring person. She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends.
