Candice S. Campbell, 60, Tipton, died at 5:10 a.m. Sunday, July 8, 2012 at IU Health Tipton Hospital. She was born July 24, 1951 in Tipton to William A. and Helen M. (Hurst) Hancock.
She had worked at Horton's Hardware in Tipton and Subaru-Isuzu Automotive Inc. in Lafayette. She was a member of the Jehovah's Witness Kingdom Hall in Elwood. Candy was the vice-president of the Friends for Parks and Recreation, president of the Residents Council at Millers Merry Manor in Tipton and a member of the Red Hat Society. She was an avid softball player and coach and also enjoyed bowling. She was a member of the Tipton High School Class of 1969.
Candy is survived by her mother Helen Hancock, Tipton; four children Chandrea Warner and husband Myrl E., Chelisa Hooper and husband Scott, William Crandon Campbell and Chaudney Cooper all of Kempton; two sisters Lynn Ann Sparks of Green Cove Springs, Florida and Janice L. Smith and husband Keith of Tipton.
She is also survived by twelve grandchildren, Chantelle Campbell, Kaibryn Williams, Anderson Williams, Brittany Hooper, Kortany Hooper, Zach Hooper, Claydon Campbell, Caydence Campbell, Caiah Coleman, Ceah Campbell, Cearrah Cooper and Charisma Cooper and one great-granddaughter; Chidalynn Beach.
Cremation was chosen and a memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, July 12 at the West Street Christian Church with Rev. Linda McKiernan-Allen presiding. The family will receive friends from 3:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday at the church. Young-Nichols Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
