Betty R. Mahaney, 81 of Tipton passed away at 8:07 a.m. on Tuesday, August 13, 2024 at The Waters of Tipton. April 16, 1943 was the day Betty was born in Adolphus, Kentucky. Her parents were Asberry Keen and Jennie (Carter) Keen Key. She was preceded in death by the father of her children, Bobby Mahaney.

Betty had worked at Federal Mogul in Frankfort, retiring in 2008. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. She was a certified herbalist and really enjoyed reading in her spare time.

Survivors include two children, Bonnie Aspiazu and husband Martin of Tipton and Bruce Mahaney and wife Marlo of Kokomo; eight grandchildren, Michael Aspiazu, Breanna Robinson, Stefanie Hulce, Clay Aspiazu, Tyler Mahaney, Derek Boes, Faith Freeman and Philip Freeman. Betty also has six great-grandchildren, Silas Mahaney, Era Jay Mahaney, Stryker Mahaney, Brantley Hulce, Kairi Smith and Aphrodite Boes.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda Boes and six siblings, Virginia Phillips, William Keen, Willard Keen, Norman Keen, Ernest Keen and Bobby Keen.

Funeral services for Betty will be a held at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, August 17 at St. John the Baptist Church with Rev. Dennis Goth presiding. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 until the time of the service on Saturday, also at St. John's.
