Bernice Duncan, 91 of Tipton died at 1:55 p.m. Sunday December 13, 2015 at Millers Merry Manor in Tipton. She was born on April 21, 1924 in Monticello, Kentucky to Sam & Mary Florence (Bell) Upchurch. On March 23, 1943 she married John P. Duncan Sr. and he preceded her in death on June 17, 1996.

Bernice worked at General Motors for 60.4 years retiring in 2006. She was a member of the Methodist Church and attended Windfall Christian Church for several years. She was a lifetime member of the Order of the Eastern Star and was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, American Business Women, Del Ray Club, and Seed City Festival organization.

She is survived by a son, John P. Duncan Jr. and wife Carolyn, Tipton; two grandchildren, Desiree Michelle Duncan, Cozumel, Mexico, and John Mark Duncan, Seattle, Washington. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul Upchurch and Lyle Upchurch.

Bernice’s funeral will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 18 at Young-Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Carl Roudebush presiding. Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery, Windfall. Visitation will be from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Thursday and from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
