Arcy G. Garmon, 72 of Tipton died at 10:57 a.m. on Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at Community Hospital North, Indianapolis. He was born October 9, 1940 in Scottsville, Kentucky to Fulton & Gertie (Binnion) Garmon. Arcy married Jean Venable on December 23, 1974 and she survives.

He retired from Chrysler on April 31, 1995 and recently worked for Crossmark. Arcy loved surrounding himself with his family and friends while doing the things he loved – fishing, hunting, and traveling to his grandchildren’s sporting events. His greatest joy was found in spending time with his wife, the love of his life, at their property on Silver Lake.

Arcy is survived by his wife, Jean; eight children, Cathy Thurman and husband Ronnie, Marion, Phillip Garmon, Kansas City, Missouri, Deb Kirkpatrick and husband Tom, Van Buren, Melanie Bickhart and husband Phillip, Tampa, Florida, Wendy Gibbs, Terre Haute, Tony Biddle and Amanda Massey, Noblesville, Mike Biddle, Greentown, Tina Fletcher and husband Tim, Carmel; 23 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Doris Harper, Tipton, Dee VanBibber and husband Joe, Tipton; and a brother Jim Garmon, Fortville, Indiana.

Arcy’s funeral will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 14 at Young-Nichols Funeral Home with Fr. Luke Mary Fletcher, CFR presiding. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Tipton. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday.
