Andrea "Andy" Pearce White

ANDREA “Andy” (BARRUM) PEARCE WHITE – On the evening of February 5, 2025, Andy passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her family. She was 79 years old.

Andy was born in Elwood, Indiana, on August 31, 1945. She was the only child of John W. and Zola Mae (Cook) Barrum. She graduated from Tipton High School in 1963 and from Indiana University in 1967.

In 1966, Andy married Rick Pearce; he passed away in 1995. Andy and Rick had three children: Erik (Sara) Pearce, Amy (Kevin) Stouder, and Brian (Sarah) Pearce, all of Tipton, Indiana. Also surviving are her five grandchildren: Emma Kelly, Drew Pearce, Eli Pearce, Miles Pearce, and Addy Pearce.

In 2006, Andy married Bill White, who also survives her. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Sherry (Jerry) Potts, and their daughter, Hailey, all of Palm Harbor, Florida. Her brother-in-law, Jack White, preceded her in death.

Andy was a schoolteacher, having taught at Lincoln Elementary School, St. John’s Catholic School, and Tipton Elementary School from 1969 to 2005. After retirement, Andy and Bill loved to travel, play – and watch - lots of golf and support all their grandkids from many sets of bleachers … enjoying every second with family and friends. 

Andy’s family would like to thank the wonderful caregivers from Heart and Soul Caring and Paradigm Hospice. Andy generously has donated her body to the Anatomical Education Program at Indiana University School of Medicine. This gift will contribute significantly to the advancement of health science education in the state of Indiana. Those, like Andy, who decide to bequeath their bodies to the health sciences have made a significant contribution that benefits the quality of life and care for the living.

The family will receive friends from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 15, at Young-Nichols Funeral Home. A private burial will be held in the future.
