Alice Jean “Jeanie” Austin

Alice Jean “Jeanie” Austin, 94 of Noblesville passed away on Wednesday, March 2, 2022 at Harbour Manor Health and Living in Noblesville. Jeanie was born on December 15, 1927 in Akron, Ohio to Ellis & Betty (Pugh) Rigby. She was married to C. Ray Austin and he preceded her in death in 1987.

Jeanie had lived for many years in Okeechobee, Florida where she had managed Okeechobee Commons. In her spare time Jeanie loved to crochet and go shopping, especially for her grandkids. She also loved cooking and spending time with her family and friends. Jeanie also enjoyed traveling and going to the local VFW.

She is survived by her son Danny and wife Stephanie; her daughter, DeAnna and husband Jason of Tipton; a sister, Jackie Nash of Gulf Shores, Alabama; four grandchildren, Michele, Danny, and Martin as well as 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Jeanie along with two sisters, Joy Rigby and Joan Bresette.

It was Jeanie’s wish to be cremated and that no formal services are held. Young-Nichols Funeral Home is assisting the Austin family with her arrangements.
