Eileen Blackburn, 97 of Tipton entered the gates of heaven at 6:12 p.m. on Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at Century Villa Health Care & Rehab in Greentown. She had previously lived in Punta Gorda, Florida and Nevada, Indiana. Eileen was born July 14, 1920 in Alexandria to Clarence Edgar & Velma (Andrews) Ellis. On April 10, 1942 she married Aaron Blackburn and he preceded her in death on March 10, 2007.
Eileen had worked at Delco Electronics – General Motors in Kokomo, retiring in 1977 and had worked at the Tipton Furniture Factory and at Reliance in Kokomo. She was a member of Nevada Church of God, Alligators Club, and Windfall Home Ec Club. She had attended the Third Ward School. Eileen was a seamstress, artist, basket weaver and enjoyed macramé, reading and spoiling her grandchildren.
Survivors include one daughter, Janice Nantroup, Windfall; three grandchildren, Jody Nantroup and wife Maggie, Jami Silvers and husband Roy, Joene Johnson and husband Russ; five great-grandchildren, Kaylan Dietrick and husband Dylan, Megan Silvers, Brooke Johnson, Hope Johnson and Syruss Johnson; one great-great-grandson, Malakhi Dietrick and a former son-in-law, John Nantroup. She was preceded in death by one sister, Helen Woods and several nieces and nephews.
Eileen’s funeral will be at 12:00 Noon on Friday, October 20 at Young-Nichols Funeral Home with Pastor Aaron Hogue presiding. Burial will follow in Nevada Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 Noon on Friday.

Eileen’s family would like to thank Heaven Sent, Guardian Angels Hospice and all of the aides and nurses who helped care for her.
